Stainless Steel Perforated Sheets

Product Overview

Bombay Metal Corporation is a trusted manufacturer, stockist, and exporter of Stainless Steel Perforated Sheets, supplying industrial buyers, fabricators, architects, and OEMs across India and overseas markets. Our perforated sheets are precision-punched using CNC press technology, delivering consistent hole geometry, accurate pitch, and clean, burr-free edges across every sheet.
Perforated sheets combine the inherent strength and corrosion resistance of stainless steel with an open-area design that enables controlled flow of air, liquid, light, or sound. This makes them uniquely versatile — equally at home as architectural cladding panels, industrial filter screens, acoustic panels, safety guards, and chemical process internals.
We supply perforated sheets in a comprehensive range of hole patterns, open-area percentages, sheet thicknesses, and surface finishes. Custom hole shapes, non-standard pitches, and specific open-area ratios can be produced to order. Material traceability, mill test certificates (MTC), and third-party inspection are available as standard.

Grades 201 and 202 are manganese-nitrogen substituted variants of the 300 series, developed to replace a portion of the costly nickel with manganese and nitrogen. They provide moderate corrosion resistance comparable to 304 in many mild environments at a reduced raw material cost. Widely used in India for interior architectural and decorative applications, they offer good formability and a bright, attractive finish.
Applications — 201 / 202 Perforated Sheets
- Interior decorative panels, feature walls, and partition screens in commercial spaces
- Elevator cab wall panels, false ceilings, and lobby feature elements
- Furniture, cabinetry, and display rack infill panels
- Light-duty ventilation grilles and cabinet door inserts
- Kitchen equipment enclosures in low-humidity indoor environments
- Retail display fixtures and point-of-sale structures

Grade 304 is the global benchmark for stainless steel perforated sheets — the most ordered, most stocked, and most versatile grade in the range. Its 18% chromium and 8% nickel content delivers reliable corrosion resistance in most atmospheric, food-contact, and mild chemical environments, while excellent formability allows complex hole patterns to be punched cleanly without cracking.
Grade 304L (low carbon) is specified wherever sheets will be welded into fabricated assemblies, eliminating sensitisation without requiring post-weld heat treatment. Grade 304H, with its elevated carbon content, is selected for applications where the perforated sheet will see sustained elevated temperatures — such as furnace baffles, heat-treatment screens, and industrial dryer internals.
Applications — 304 / 304L / 304H Perforated Sheets
- Food processing and dairy equipment screens, sieves, and draining panels
- Pharmaceutical cleanroom wall panels and ceiling tiles requiring hygiene compliance
- Architectural facade cladding, sunscreens, and rain screens
- HVAC air inlet / outlet grilles and ventilation louvres
- Industrial vibrating and static screens for grain, aggregate, and mineral separation
- Chemical plant filter screens and strainer baskets
- Machine guards, safety enclosures, and equipment covers
- Acoustic panels and noise-control enclosures in factories and power stations
- Heat treatment and annealing furnace trays and baffles (304H)
- Water treatment plant screens and intake filters

Grade 309S has substantially higher chromium (23%) and nickel (13%) than 304, giving it outstanding resistance to oxidation and scaling at elevated temperatures. The low carbon content of 309S prevents sensitisation when welded, making it the preferred choice for welded perforated panels used in high-temperature environments such as furnace baffles and thermal shielding.
Applications — 309S Perforated Sheets
- Furnace baffles, radiation screens, and heat deflection panels
- Kiln and calciner gas flow control perforated partitions
- High-temperature industrial dryer and oven interior panels
- Thermal insulation cladding backing sheets in fired heaters

Grade 310/310S sits at the top of the standard austenitic range for high-temperature performance. With 25% chromium and 20% nickel, it builds an extremely stable, adherent chromium oxide scale that resists spalling at temperatures where all lower-alloy grades fail rapidly. Grade 310S is the low-carbon variant, preferred for perforated sheets that will be welded or subjected to the sensitisation temperature range in service.
Applications — 310 / 310S Perforated Sheets
- Radiant heat shields and radiation baffles in high-temperature furnaces
- Thermocouple protection tubes and high-temperature instrument screens
- Cement kiln and rotary kiln gas distribution plates
- Industrial incinerator and thermal oxidiser interior screens
- Petrochemical reformer furnace catalyst support grids
- Continuous annealing and strip galvanising furnace internal baffles

Grade 317/317L contains a higher molybdenum content (3–4%) than 316, delivering a meaningfully higher pitting resistance equivalent (PRE ~30) for more aggressive chloride and acid environments. Grade 317L is the welded-fabrication standard specification. These grades are used wherever 316L falls short — particularly in flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) systems, strong acid environments, and textile processing plant.
Applications — 317 / 317L Perforated Sheets
- Flue gas desulphurisation (FGD) scrubber interior distribution plates and mist eliminators
- Textile dyeing and finishing equipment screens and drainage plates

Titanium stabilisation in Grade 321 prevents chromium carbide precipitation at grain boundaries in the 425–870°C temperature range, making it completely immune to sensitisation and intergranular corrosion. Perforated 321 sheets maintain their mechanical integrity and corrosion resistance even after prolonged exposure at elevated temperatures or repeated thermal cycling. Grade 321H, with its higher carbon content, provides superior creep resistance for sustained high-temperature applications.
Applications — 321 / 321H Perforated Sheets
- Jet engine and gas turbine heat shields and baffles
- Exhaust system heat protection screens in aerospace and automotive applications
- Industrial furnace interior screens and baffle plates in the sensitisation temperature range

Grade 347 uses niobium as its stabilising element — a more effective carbide-former than titanium at higher temperatures, giving 347 slightly better high-temperature strength and creep performance than 321. Grade 347H is specifically qualified under ASME Section VIII for high-temperature pressure service. Both grades resist sensitisation through the full service temperature range without requiring post-fabrication heat treatment.
Applications — 347 / 347H Perforated Sheets
- Refinery atmospheric distillation column tray decks and downcomer plates
- High-temperature pressure vessel internals requiring ASME code compliance (347H)

Grade 904L is the premium choice where severe corrosion resistance is the primary requirement. Its very high nickel content (up to 28%), elevated molybdenum (4–5%), copper addition (1–2%), and ultra-low carbon (≤ 0.02%) combine to deliver outstanding resistance to sulphuric acid at all concentrations, phosphoric acid, acetic acid, and chloride-induced pitting and crevice attack. Perforated 904L sheets are used in the most demanding chemical process, offshore, and pharmaceutical environments where standard 316L would fail unacceptably quickly.
Applications — 904L Perforated Sheets
- Sulphuric acid plant absorption tower packing support plates and mist eliminators
- Phosphoric acid and fertiliser plant process filter screens
- Offshore seawater handling — intake screens, filter elements, and separation panels
- Chemical plant screens for concentrated reducing acid service
- Pharmaceutical multi-purpose process filter and drainage plates
- Desalination plant high-pressure membrane support screens

- Interior architectural cladding, decorative screens, and facade panels (430)
- Kitchen equipment — range hood filters, oven interiors, and appliance panels (430)
- Elevator cab interior panels, door inserts, and lobby screens (430)
- Cold storage and refrigeration equipment interior linings (430)
